Midwest States Brochure Due date: May 9th
Project Summary:
You will make an Informational Brochure for a Great Lakes or Plain state. This booklet will
tell people about your state and why it is an interesting place. (Bullet points notes are acceptable)
What you will need in your brochure:
History
- How did your state become a state?
- Where did the settlers come from?
- What was their life like?
- Interesting facts about your state’s history.
Attractions:
- What places are there to visit?
- Are there Amusement parks? Historical sites? Scenic routes?
- Activities which could be done in your state. (Mountains for skiing, lakes for swimming, etc.)
Economy:
- If I was to live here, how would I earn a living (make money)?
- What are the benefits of where it is located? (natural resources, like river, Fertile soil, etc.)
Other Interesting facts
- State name, flower, bird
- Anything else you find interesting about your state
- A Map of your state (which must show the state capital, 3-4 major cities, major rivers)
- Illustrations or pictures (you may use the internet) with captions
For bonus points:
- Dress up in a costume representing your state.
- Bring in a food that represents your state.
- Bring in an actual brochure from your state.

words are spelled correctly, Everything is written in your own words,
evidence of effort is clearly present, etc.)
